married Ruth Ann Barnett on February 5, 1952, who was born January 9,
1934. Donald Ward passed away on May 2,1996 after a year and a half battle with
cancer.
Grandfather (Paternal) - Oscar Achilles Roeber, born October 14, 1901 in
Halletsville, Texas. He died at the age of 32 from complications of pneumonia.
His Wife - Lucille Martha Brumbelow, Born September 3, 1909. She passed away on
March 24, 1996.
His Father - Charles Roeber, born 1870, (Colorado or Lavaca County?).
Wife - Christina Pagel, born February, 1869 near Halletsville, Texas in Lavaca
County.
His Father - Achilles Roeber, born 1842 in Saxony, Germany. Wife - Hermina
Kuensler, born 1851 somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean in route to America.
Christina Pagel, born February 1869 near Halletsville, Texas -
daughter of Charles and Johanna Pagel of Lavaca County. At the time of the 1880
census, Christina was 11 years old. Both of Christina's parents were born in
Prussia. According to the census, Charles was 44 years of age and his wife
Johanna was 36, making their birth years about 1836 and 1844, respectively. A
grandfather born about 1809 in Prussia (identified only as Henry Kuhne, age
71,) also lived with the Pagels at this time.

1878, Deleuth, Georgia. Mother - Cora Gipe, born 1881? in Moody, Texas.
Virgil's father was Marion Howell Brumbelow, born November 11, 1856 in Georgia.
Virgil's mother was Lucenda C. Green, born 1855, probably in Deleuth, Georgia.
(At the age of one or two, Virgil traveled under extreme hardship with his
parents in a covered wagon to Moody, Texas where they settled.) Cora's father
was John Gipe, born 1840, Springfield, Missouri. It's not clear why, but John
Gipe traveled to and settled in the Moody area in the late 1850s. He married
Martha Gent (born 18?? in Moody, Texas) in 1860. Martha died in 1915.
